Self Taught Papercrafters

I've been scrapbooking and making cards actively since 2003; before I even know that there was such a thing as scrapbooking (papercrafting). I am a self taught scrapbooker/card maker. Even though it's been over 10 years since I purchased my first paper pack for set of stickers, I'm still behind with the scrapbooking trends.  I go to crops and visit scrapbooking social sites and belong to several groups. I feel so intimidated. I started Royal Scrap Club in 2003 after finishing embellished Sunday School folders for my pre school aged students. I feel so behind.  I have so many stamps and inks. But what the heck do I do with them. Now, I'm behind on something else... The Julie Nutting Prima Paper Dolls. I will I ever get caught up!!!!!!!

Hey, as I type this mini rant... I have an idea. I'm going to reach out into my papercrafting circle and find some experienced scrapbooker/card makers and have a Boot Camp... Humm, this is going to be good.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! So, in honor of this event--I, along with some talented crafter's, have teamed up to honor and celebrate the men and women in our lives that inspire us with their strength in the battle against Breast Cancer. Of course, a blog hop isn't complete without blog candy! There will be giveaways on various blogs throughout the hop! Plus, there will be an SOC blog hop gift awaiting one visitor!! To be eligible for that prize, you must comment on all the blogs by Monday, Oct. 10 at 11:00pm EST. The fight to find a cure for breast cancer is near and dear to my heart. Not only because my maternal grandmother lost her battle with breast cancer; but because my mom had a scare a few years ago.  In 2009, the Lord healed me from ovarian cancer. To God Be the glory for the things he has done. I give him praise for healing me and for the courage and hope that i received from my mom and my grandmother.  Yes, Lord we need a cure.  My prayers and ...

SOC Celebrate #8 Blog Hop: Day 2

Thanks for Coming Back! I'm still celebrating with my SOC sisters and my daughter Alexis. I'm so very proud of her, which is why she is my focus during this celebration blog hop.   Layout 2: Supplies Paper:  Stampin Up! Paper: Me and My Big Idea Stickers: EK success Border trim: Recollections Bling: Recollections       My daughter is NOT a fan of pastel colors which is why I'm continuing with the bright colors.  I used the black Congratulations paper because I wanted to make the layout pop. I cut a large frame by using the Storybook Cricut Cartridge; set for 10 inches.  I cut it in half and inked the edges to tone down the white. I also matted and inked the stickers. Example 1: Inking and Frames   Q: How often do you ink the edges of you paper? Do you ever use inks other than browns and blacks?      I've been trying to experiment with different layouts by doing things like t...

Scraps of Color "Christmas in July" Blog Hop: Day 1

My Christmas in July 2013 My Pink Journey CHRISTMAS IN JULY: DAY 1 One Sunday night (I guess it was actually early Monday morning) in July, I had a bad case of insomnia and was fooling around on eBay.  I saw that there was a bid on a new Pink Journey Cricut Expression Bundle that was about to end and the price was like 40 bucks. I was like; No way. The Bundle included 3 cartridges; one of which was the Pink Journey Champagne Rose Solution cartridge. So, I bid $56 and won the bid.  That was such a great deal simply because the Pink Journey cartridge sells for about that; at least on eBay.  Below is the layout that I created to commemorate the purchase LAYOUT 1 Solid Cardstock is Recollections Patterned Paper is Stampin Up! Chipboard Letters and Banners are KandCompany Journaling mats are Creative Imaginations Flip Flops Sticko Bling is from want2scrap Studio G Ink was used for the edges of the mats The chipboard let...
