11/2/2011   Get Out                  Get In                           Get Acquainted I recently attended my first scrapbooking retreat.  I didn't know any of the participants; other than the host and hostess.  Needless to say when I told some of my acquaintances that I was going to East Tennessee to scrapbook with strangers. Of course it was assumed that there were not going to be any black women involved because "We" don't scrapbook. Of course that bothered me a little; but not enough to cause me not to want to go.   I started scrapbooking over 10 years ago when there appeared not to be an African American  scrapbooker in site. But now we are everywhere and are major contributors in the market.  Needless to say, I had a great time. Having written all of this, I encourage you to Get out! Get In! And get Acquainted!
