Tea Time with My Scrapping Sisters

Tea Time with My Sisters

As a former wedding and event planner, I love themed crops. Whether it’s for 2 or 202 guest; I love themed crops. I host monthly crops in my home and there is always a theme!! When my children were younger, I was the hostess with the mostess. From their 1st to their 21th birthdays, there was a theme. It took several weeks; even months to plan; but it was always fit for the children of royalty.  So the sisters of RSC-DPS Nashville deserve the same careful planning. Below is a two page layout  of our Tea time Crop hosted by one of our charter sisters.

This paper was given to me by Sharon James. As is, it was ugly paper. I asked her for it knowing that it was ugly with possibilities. I tore it several times and attached it to plain white paper and inked the edges.

This paper has a fabric feel and inked very well.

The "Crop Queen" tag is from Karen Foster. It was $4 bucks; which is more than I like to pay for any single embellishment. I was "saving" it for a special project...this may be that special project. I'll have to think about it some more before I take the plastic film off. Know what I mean?

I'm learning to layer elements. I'v always thought layering made a layout junkie and took away from a photo, but I'm slowing moving to the layering side.

The Scrap Zone sticker is from a Karen foster sticker set that I purchased at a store in Pigeon forge.
This was a fun layout. I choose to use a 3 corner punch to bring even more accent to the photos. I didn't want over power the pages with lemon, kiwi  and celery colors; which is why I matted some of the photos with glittery green paper. I also added blue buttons and various embellishments to also break up the lemons and celery colors

Thanks for sharing Tea Time
Be Blessed and Be a Blessing...

Scraps of Color "Christmas in July" Blog Hop: Day 1

My Christmas in July 2013 My Pink Journey CHRISTMAS IN JULY: DAY 1 One Sunday night (I guess it was actually early Monday morning) in July, I had a bad case of insomnia and was fooling around on eBay.  I saw that there was a bid on a new Pink Journey Cricut Expression Bundle that was about to end and the price was like 40 bucks. I was like; No way. The Bundle included 3 cartridges; one of which was the Pink Journey Champagne Rose Solution cartridge. So, I bid $56 and won the bid.  That was such a great deal simply because the Pink Journey cartridge sells for about that; at least on eBay.  Below is the layout that I created to commemorate the purchase LAYOUT 1 Solid Cardstock is Recollections Patterned Paper is Stampin Up! SOC CELEBRATE #8 BLOG HOP: DAY 3

WELCOME BACK to the Scraps of Color Celebrate #8 Blog Hop I've Been Accepted!!    I can remember when my daughter and I were reading about colleges and she told me that she only wanted to go to a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) .  I was thinking, praise God TSU (Tennessee State University) here she comes. DING-DONG-WRONG! She said that she wanted to go to Alabama A&M in Huntsville. Then the prayer wheel started turning. " Lord, you said that you would supply all of our needs according to your riches" and you said that "What things we desire, when we pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them".        Now, she had some struggles in high school and was at best a B- to C+ student . Even though she would study and work hard; she had trouble. School just did not come easy to her; but her common sense and work ethic was ON POINT. Believe that. Nevertheless, Alexis only applied to one school. She ha...

Of course, a blog hop isn't complete without blog candy! There will be giveaways on various blogs throughout the hop! Plus, there will be an SOC blog hop gift awaiting one visitor!! To be eligible for that prize, you must comment on all the blogs by Monday, Oct. 10 at 11:00pm EST. The fight to find a cure for breast cancer is near and dear to my heart. Not only because my maternal grandmother lost her battle with breast cancer; but because my mom had a scare a few years ago.  In 2009, the Lord healed me from ovarian cancer. To God Be the glory for the things he has done. I give him praise for healing me and for the courage and hope that i received from my mom and my grandmother.  Yes, Lord we need a cure.  My prayers and ...
