Aahhh, summertime is here. Summer has soooo many fun memories for me. From my earliest memories of playing in the sprinklers at my Madea's row home to picking beans and tomatoes at my granny and granddaddy's home. What is summer without your family? Family vacations, cookouts, pool parties, and decoration day at the family cemetery are the memories we need to preserve . For me its about family and the memories we are making for the next generation. Since I started scrapbooking seriously in 2003, I've become the keeper of the family photos.

{Family cookout for my son before he went to college.
This was his "Orange and White" party.}
I didn't want to just use orange; but I wanted to pick up all of the summer colors.
I also did not purchase any new supplies; Just used what I had in my stash and here is it.
The different sizes of the photos made the layout interesting and fun.
Page 2 of 2
More elements added to the 2nd page. Not too much. I'm using my new scrapbooking principle "Hit it and quit it". I'm also teaching this principle to my scrapbooking group. It's not about how much stuff you can put on a page but its about allowing the photos to tell the story.
Again, I used different photo sizes and shapes to give the layout variety. Notice the journaling block in the lower right corners. I just used leftover patterned paper from another layout. This is enough of a contrast that it will direct the viewer to read the about the event.
Because this is a work in progress, I will journal after all of the pages are complete.
Thanks for Stopping by!
Cyndi

What is your earliest summertime memory? Was it eating watermelon on the porch and spitting seeds? Was it a special summertime fling? Was it the first summer that your baby walked for the first time? I would love to know.
Family Fun in the Park.
