Looking at the Rain

2/22/2012

Last night I got my hair done; in my favorite spiral curls. I must say, It always looks good on me +++ I can make the style last for over 2 weeks. Any way, when I woke up this morning, I got sad because it was raining here in Nashville. Mannn, my hair is gonna get wet! Dang, this mist is going to take some of the life from my curls! Now I may only get 10 days out of my hair. Complain, complain, complain. Then immediately I was convicted by the Holy Spirit. What did you say?

Every morning the first words from my mouth are "I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth (Psalm 34:1)". Every morning without fail. All I could do after my thoughts, was ask for forgiveness for making my hair a small g.  We have so many small g's in our lives. Whether it's ourselves, our children, spouses, jobs, or even our credit scores. We need to rid ourselves of these small g's that we give more attention to than we do the one and only Big G; The great I AM. I was also reminded about the families and individuals that live in my neighborhood who were affected by the Great May floods of 2010. In most cases, many of those families lost all of their material possessions. Those 3 days all we could say was "I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears." Nearly 2 years later, many of the homes have been torn down and the families relocated. Nevertheless, I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

LAYOUT OF HISTORIC MAY FLOODS OF 2012

WOW. What a day this was. This page is the 2nd day of flooding.

Even though this was a scary time, it was also a scrapbook moment. This was very dangerous because the water was rising and rushing so quickly, we could have been swept away. If my car had stalled, we would have been killed. Thank you Lord for your grace and mercy.

My Christmas in July 2013 My Pink Journey CHRISTMAS IN JULY: DAY 1 One Sunday night (I guess it was actually early Monday morning) in July, I had a bad case of insomnia and was fooling around on eBay.  I saw that there was a bid on a new Pink Journey Cricut Expression Bundle that was about to end and the price was like 40 bucks. I was like; No way. The Bundle included 3 cartridges; one of which was the Pink Journey Champagne Rose Solution cartridge. So, I bid $56 and won the bid.  That was such a great deal simply because the Pink Journey cartridge sells for about that; at least on eBay.  Below is the layout that I created to commemorate the purchase LAYOUT 1 Solid Cardstock is Recollections Patterned Paper is Stampin Up! SOC CELEBRATE #8 BLOG HOP: DAY 3

WELCOME BACK to the Scraps of Color Celebrate #8 Blog Hop I've Been Accepted!!    I can remember when my daughter and I were reading about colleges and she told me that she only wanted to go to a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) .  I was thinking, praise God TSU (Tennessee State University) here she comes. DING-DONG-WRONG! She said that she wanted to go to Alabama A&M in Huntsville. Then the prayer wheel started turning. " Lord, you said that you would supply all of our needs according to your riches" and you said that "What things we desire, when we pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them".        Now, she had some struggles in high school and was at best a B- to C+ student . Even though she would study and work hard; she had trouble. School just did not come easy to her; but her common sense and work ethic was ON POINT. Believe that. Nevertheless, Alexis only applied to one school. She ha...

Not only because my maternal grandmother lost her battle with breast cancer; but because my mom had a scare a few years ago.  In 2009, the Lord healed me from ovarian cancer. To God Be the glory for the things he has done. I give him praise for healing me and for the courage and hope that i received from my mom and my grandmother.  Yes, Lord we need a cure.  My prayers and ...
